Our Approach
We believe in structured, evidence-based therapy that empowers you to become your own therapist.
Not just listening.
Building skills.
At Steady Mind, we don't just listen; we give you tools. Our philosophy is rooted in the belief that anxiety and overthinking are often habits of the mind that can be changed with the right practice.
We utilize a blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Metacognitive Therapy, and Mindfulness-based interventions to help you break free from the cycle of worry. It's not about silencing your thoughts, but changing your relationship with them.

Core Techniques
At Steady Mind, your sessions will involve:
Meditation
You’ll learn evidence-based meditation techniques that will help you overcome patterns of negative thinking
Intention-Setting
You’ll set regular intentions, ranging from physical exercise to everyday tasks, that will help to keep you accountable
Assessments
You’ll take regular assessments to track your progress, reflect on takeaways, and consolidate what you’ve learned
Meditation
Detached Mindfulness is an evidenced-based meditation technique that has been shown to help reduce anxiety. Developed in the context of Metacognitive Therapy, it allows you to desist from patterns of overthinking and rumination that feed into anxiety.
After orienting you to Detached Mindfulness meditation, your Steady Mind therapist will incorporate the technique into each session.
Intention-Setting
At the end of every session, your Steady Mind therapist will help you to set intentions related to the topics that you discussed. You’ll return to these intentions at the end of your next session.
Being held to these intentions will help you to stay accountable and make incremental progress. Many clients report that one of the biggest benefits of therapy is knowing that their therapist will keep them honest with intentions, ranging from exercise to practicing gratitude.
Assessments
At Steady Mind, you’ll regularly reflect on your progress using screeners like the GAD-7, as well as general questionnaires that assess your well-being. You’ll also take assessments that determine your values and how well you’re aligned with them
Your Steady Mind therapist will help you to understand the results of these assessments, and incorporate them into your therapy practice.
