How can meditation help to treat my anxiety?

Often times, anxiety results from a sustained negative engagement with our own thoughts, which is called rumination. With the right practice, meditation can help you to recognize these patterns of engagement and choose against them. Over time, this will help you to think more purposefully and reduce your anxiety.

What kind of meditation is taught at Steady Mind?

Steady Mind’s meditation workshops are informed by a number of meditative practices, in particular Detached Mindfulness. This form of meditation was developed in the context of Metacognitive Therapy.
